1.1 - New Hire

1.1 - New Hire: It’s Jeremy’s first day on the job at DNAC Inc.!

Is he prepared for the new position and what exactly was he hired to do?

Recommend listening: Hunter by San Cisco

Index:

D.N.A.C. Inc. - An unbelievably large, and growing bigger all the time, shadow company with their fingers dipped in many pies. They would like you to think that they are Definitely Not A Cult but they super definitely are a cult whose main goal is to shepherd the earthy birth of a Demon-Lord which they hope will bring about a sort of anti-rapture.

Jeremy - The new hire to D.N.A.C. Ambitious and ready to climb the corporate ladder. Maybe too ambitious and willing to cut corners. He lied so well on his D.N.A.C. application that the company thought he was chosen by a divine dark providence.

Rob - The recruiter. A “scout”, looking for “good candidates” and also uses a lot of “quotation fingers” while talking.

April - The secretary. It would take a lot to get April to look up from her phone or book but she is the first person you’d encounter when entering D.N.A.C. Inc. headquarters.

Deborah - The supervisor, A go-getter and serves the will of the manager. Likes to get her hands dirty and loves to bring muffins to work.

Mr. Wyatt - The Manager or overseer of daily operations that spearhead D.N.A.C.’s goals and efforts. Loves golf.

The Order of Aurs’x G’or - “The Order” would be the brains behind the specific cult whose branches of operation include D.N.A.C. Inc. The progenitors of this cult decided to focus their efforts on a Demon-Lord which they called Aurs’x G’or which is way off. The Demon-Lord’s name is actually Steve.

The Door to Chaos - It has been prophesied that once the earthly birth of a Demon-Lord is achieved then the Door to Chaos would be unlocked. The Order isn’t exactly sure what that means but they sure are excited for it. They assume once this metaphysical door unlocks then what has lurked in the shadows would be brought forth. Essentially monsters would go from folklore to reality which is said to hasten the apocalypse.

Background:

My good friend Jeremy Greene helped me out in the way back with a comic project I was working on. Since I'm not word-good I needed an editor which, after some intoxicants, Jeremy was happy to help with. When thinking of a first character/victim, I could think of no one better for the role so I used him as a visual reference. While he may think of it as me working out some “friend-killing” fantasies, I could also think of no greater honor then to have him grace these pages. To populate the office setting I used the Parks and Recreation cast.

The song “Hunter” by San Cisco is pure metal. It's the most unassuming song about human slaughter which made it the perfect inspiration for this story.
